Lets go fly a kite!

Today was the 81st annual Kitefest in Austin! Mark and I walked up to Zilker (beautiful but cold day!) and got to look at all the crazy kites - there were giant ones shaped like squid, sharks, and a big blue dude (pictured). There were also these teeny tiny ones on sticks that were super-cute and perfect for kids. Bonus, the greyhound rescue group was there, so I talked to them and learned a little more about adopting greyhounds. They're adaptable (happy to sit in the apartment/house all day or run with you as long as you acclimate them) and fairly hypoallergenic. Hopefully someday I'll be able to save one! The ones they brought were really sweet (I suppose they wouldn't bring the bad ones). And whoa - I am in my daily picture!

  2. Hey Cam, you know what else looks fun that we should do as a group? CRUISES. That's right...just something to think about.

Also, our neighbors adopted a greyhound and she was SOOOO awesome! Really sweet and lazy and stuff. But they were uber protective about her not getting out because apparently they never lose their instinct to chase and if they see a cat or something they're GONE! At about 55 mph.
